Salt and Salvation
God is able to provide salvation and grace in the midst of insurmountable situations (Esther 7 and Numbers 11). God's glory is evident, so seek righteousness and cry out to God (Psalm 19). He is able to save those who seem destined for destruction (Psalm 124). Those who pray and seek help from God (James 5:13-20) must be willing to help and protect the vulnerable in Jesus name. His followers are called to season the world around them and seek peace (Mark 9:38-50).

Scripture Readings
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth...

If the Lord had not been on our side—let Israel say—if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us, they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us; the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away.

Practicing Prayer
O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity: Grant us the fullness of your grace, that we, running to obtain your promises, may become partakers of your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.  -The Book of Common Prayer
