The Fifth Sunday of Easter
April 24, 2016
Year C

Themes: The good news is this: Jesus Christ died for our sins and was resurrected so that no one should perish, but all should have eternal life (Acts 11:1-18). We should then love one another, as Christ loved us (Jn 13:31-35), even as we look forward to eternity with him (Rev 21:1-6).
Let all the earth and heavens praise the Lord (Ps 148)!

praise him, all you shining stars..."

Commentary on John 13:31-35
"Passing over the miracles that they were to perform, he makes love the distinguishing mark of his followers. Miracles do not attract unbelievers as much as the way you live your life. And nothing brings about a proper life as much as love."

"Songs for the Season" Eastertide Music for Listening
Easter hope is ripe with new possibilities and practices...illuminated bodies, burning hearts, and broken bread. Theses weeks of Eastertide highlight the joy, mystery, and power of the resurrected Christ and the promise of New Creation. Wonder and surprise mark the disciples experience during these days before Christ's ascension.
